Please provide some kind of integration for iPlayer with Windows Vista Media Center. At the moment the fantastic "TunerFree MCE" app works pretty well for streaming stuff... sometimes, but I would love an official solution, and perhaps integration with downloaded content. Please!
Iplayer is not working for me at all - it was two days ago and there have been no changes or updates to my machine - Windows 7, Internet Exploder 8 OR Firefox 3. Looking at the problems, there are multiple Java errors showing up in my Exploder diagnostic window... I guess someone has finger trouble??
Just bought a set-top box and the red button channel doesn't work - the picture comes up perfectly, then goes black while the sound keeps going. I've tried to automatically rescan for channels, but it hasn't made any difference. Any tips? Cheers
Not sure why, but for the past while, the BBC news website appears extra large (as though magnified) when I use Firefox. It's the only site that this happens with, and it is not a problem with Internet Explorer when I use it. Help?
Help. Does any one know why I get the message "This content does't seem to be working. Try again later" when I try to download a program using BBC iPlayer ?
You can now watch pretty much all the BBC channels on the iPlayer website when using a Mac/PC, but it would be great if you could do the same on the iPhone. I understand that doing this over 3G may not be possible at the moment due to bandwidth constraints, but there is no reason that this couldn't be done over WiFi.
A useful feature would be to add links to the relevant IMBD page (and possibly other sites) from 'programmes' which are actually films (eg A Beautiful Mind). You could probably figure out how to do this programmatically...
Is there a way to force iPlayer into fullscreen? Specifically, I'm looking for the BBC News 24 live feed to be forced into fullscreen upon loading. (I'm assuming that BBC News live feed goes through the iPlayer platform)
I'm not sure what your plans are for Radio Pop, but it'd be awesome if you could update it to use the same Flash-based player as iPlayer. I keep finding that the RealPlayer streams rebuffer loads, and aren't as reliable as the ones used by iPlayer.
Of course, perhaps you're just going to integrate the Radio Pop social features into iPlayer instead... ;-)
Would it be possible to add a now and next to /programmes? I know there is /ataglance you can stick on the end of /programmes/schedules/ but now and next would mean you don't even need to scan the listings. I'm being slightly lazy as for my application I could parse the xml feed for the schedule and figure out what is on now and next myself, but others might find it useful for other reasons.
Is there a way, or will the ever be a way, to subscribe to iPlayer shows as RSS feeds with video enclosures so that they can be automatically downloaded to iTunes in the same way that Radio 4 shows like Start the Week and In Our Time are available?
Is there any way I can stream/play downloaded iPlayer programmes through my Xbox 360 to my HD TV? Right now I'm simply using a trusty s-video cable to link my laptop to my TV, but an easier solution would be fantastic.
If not xbox, how about Windows Media Center? Any tips/hints/tricks greatly appreciated.
Is it possible (Well, I know it's possible but will it ever be done) for the iPlayer Desktop to make use of some form of 'series recording', ie you can download an entire series using Series Catch-Up as well as pre-book unaired episodes with a single click?
how do I put bbc news feeds on my web site? I can see it's possible by going to http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/help/rss/3..., but it doesn't explain how to get them to appear on the website.
I'm currently watching the F1 qualifing live on iPlayer and the DOG is being particularly annoying, because there are other graphics on screen and it is placed over the top of them (in this case obscuring the number 1 driver!)
DOGs are universally unpopular, but if we have to have them please can there be some process in place to make sure they don't interfere with other onscreen graphics.
Also, why does it need to be so far away from teh corner of the screen. I know you've got to be careful about graphics getting cut off on conventional TVs, but does that apply in the same way on iPlayer? Even if the left and right are cut off on a 4:3 monitor, that would just mean that the entire DOG was hidden - not exactly a big problem - and it would look better when not maximised or on a widescreen monitor.
You might be able to keep everyone happy by adding the DOG afterwards (on the user's computer). Then it could be correctly positioned, and you could have an option to hide it for people that it annoys.
