Allow users to suggest edits and corrections to the data
One idea to help 'fix' the data would be to allow users to point out mistakes, suggests edits and additions, or perhaps more commonly, merges between two programmes that are really the same one. Of course, there would have to be some kind of system to manage this, whether moderated by the BBC or the community, but it could be useful - the data will never be 100% perfect!

Inappropriate?OK... so now I am replying to the right thread... This has always been on the /programmes wishlist but we're waiting until some of the new identity features are in place... my hope is that we might pilot this year

Inappropriate? For those that don't speak BBC, the new "identity" feature is "the new user account system" (you know, the thing that lets you sign in). User input into /programmes is on the feature list, so I've marked this "we're working on it"; though possibly not 'corrections'.
Sophie is a BBC employee, incidentally, not that she's showing up as one in here quite yet.

Inappropriate?Sounds good. I think that allowing user input is the first step on the path towards making the /programmes pages truly valuable.
And I think there's definite scope for passionate fans, regular listeners, etc to enhance the pages by adding things like the names of guests (on radio shows), related links, credits (often absent), etc. Especially when old programmes from the Infax database get imported... (see http://getsatisfaction.com/bbc/topics...)
I’m hopeful
