Inappropriate? This can happen for a variety of reasons. If you right-click on the player, you will see a menu which includes "Copy error message". Click on that, and it will copy a more detailed error message into your clipboard. If you paste it here I may be able to work out what broke.

Title: NetStreamError:NetStreamError.NET_STREAM_FAILED
This is the problem: Description: The NetStream failed because there is insufficient bandwidth. What can I do about this?
Code: NetStream.Play.InsufficientBW -
Inappropriate?Trying to download any episode of "Little Dorrit" tonight results in a zero-length file. Is it me or is it the Beeb system?
I first tried using Firefox, my normal browser, but the right-click menu did not offer download at all. Tried it then in Microsoft Explorer, which did offer download on the menu, but then brought only the zero-length files.
Does the Beeb support only Microsoft? -
Inappropriate?I have the same message as the OP whenever I try to watch during the evening. At other times it's usually ok. Did what you suggested and below is the error message I copied. Other than downloading everything I want to watch, is there anything I can do about this please? I have a 2mb broadband connection, and my ISP is Tiscali - don't know if that is relevant.

Inappropriate?I don't think the BBC has sized it's bandwidth requirements right. Basically their iplayer network connection is overloaded because their network manager didn't size it right.
My humble opinion - Should put a penny on the license fee and pay for the soddin' bandwidth.

Thanks. That would make sense - I use 4OD quite a bit at peak times, and never experience a streaming problem there. -
Inappropriate? You might want to give the new beta downloader a go.
www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/labs to switch it on - then try downloading a programme and use the new Adobe-Air based player/downloader (which doesn't use the Kontiki base of the current one). -
