Pub seriously threatened financially by incorrect reporting from BBC
As the Licensee of "The Boars Head Inn" of Crowborough East Sussex I am requesting the transcript and video of a news item that you apparently released on Tuesday the 3rd. March
regarding a pub that was closing down. I am advised that your reporter mentioned the BOARS HEAD INN, EAST SUSSEX as being the pub that was closing as opposed to the "BULLS HEAD".
I have no need to tell you of the impact that this is having on our business and look forward to your immediate and aggressive response to rectify this catastrophic situation.

I'm afraid it's the only one I can give you. The BBC staff who look here are generally technical staff, and we have used this area for suggestions and bug reports.
I'm afraid questions like yours can only be dealt with by the official BBC feedback mechanism - the staff here just don't have the correct knowledge, skills or contacts to answer your question.

Hello
Because this isn't an official BBC feedback service, the BBC staff who are here unfortunately won't be able to provide direct help on your question.
The best place to ask this question is via the BBC's feedback website, and the team there will be able to answer your question. The website is at:

Hi there Gordon,
Your question was passed to me at BBC Southern Counties Online to see if I could shed any light on this. I have found the report in question: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/79... but can see no mention of the Boars Head Inn, or Crowborough.
The report refers to the Bull's Head in Boreham Street, (which is in Hailsham, E.Sussex). The report makes the location very clear during interview with the local residents and the landlady of the pub.
The first line of the report gives the pub's name: "It's approaching closing time at the Bull's Head" and 14 seconds in, there is an interview with the Landlady, complete with the caption "Jackie Port, Landlady, Bull's Head".
The report goes on to show several exterior shots of the "Bull's Head".
i can only summise that your source misheard our news story, and therefore passed on incorrect information to you. I have attached the link for you to satisfy yourself, that there is absolutely no mention of either your pub, or Crowborough, in the BBC News report.
I hope this answers your question.
As you can see, we did in fact, report on the story accurately.
If you wish to discuss this further, feel free to email me at southerncounties@bbc.co.uk
Best wishes
