Why are there no subtitles on all the bbc iplayer programs I download? Whats happened to the BBC's commitment to programming that is available to the disabled?

BBC iPlayer Download Manage. Little Dorrit has subs but, for example, last two episodes of Top Gear have no subs. Thanks

I'm frustrated about this, too. How hard can it be for the BBC to state whether or not a programme has subtitles. I am tired of downloading programmes all the time only to find that they don't have subtitles and then are useless for my purposes. It is a waste of time and doesn't make sense. I need subtitles.

It's 2009 and the BBC are 100% not providing 100% subtitles for online users, also their youtube channels have no subtitles what so ever! However onlinesubtitles.org offers the hard of hearing and other internet users the option to watch all recent tv shows online with closed captions.Pretty much everything substream is insync and 99% accurate, but best of all.. there is NO ANNOYING ADS!!!

I just heard of 22frames.com ( http://www.22frames.com/ )? It's trying to index every caption/subtitled video on the Internet. They allow users to submit videos too ( http://www.22frames.com/suggest.aspx ). Perhaps we can try to use that as a pool for submitting verified captioned iPlayer videos. Better yet, you could join me in emailing them to start indexing iPlayer as well as they are doing with Hulu and several other sites.
