Leopard 10.5.2 broke your nice shadows! Last reply on February 21, 2008 16:54.

The shadows throughout your app now have an extra pixel of distance, which looks rather weird. It's due to a change in shadow handling in the new WebKit/Safari, in 10.5.2. Just a heads up.

Repository URL box and ssl Last reply on February 12, 2008 17:15.

This is a tiny little thing, but if the user has an account with ssl, maybe make the url in the Repository url box have https instead of http.

    Toggling between openid and username/password

I noticed toggling between openid and username/password did not clear the contents of previous login method chosen. On one project I have two beanstalk accounts, one for myself and one for the deploy user. When trying to login using username/password for the deploy user, the openid field still had my openid in it and logged me in using that.

SVN clients can't upload project to repository Last reply on January 30, 2008 21:12.

The exact error both clients I've tried return is:

'Can't open file '/var/lib/subversion/beanstalk.storage/2578/sunshine/db/transactions/2-2.txn/next-ids': Permission denied'

I'm trying to do an initial upload of a Movable type installation and the client gets this error something like 2/3's of the way through adding the files.

I did wonder if its due to the size of the upload as Movable Type isn't exactly small and I've managed to upload a couple of other files.

Is there syntax highlighting in the code browser? Last reply on June 18, 2008 16:37.

I am moving from Trac, which beautifully formatted my Python, JavaScript, and XML code.

Does Beanstalk provide this? If so, for what languages?

How are commit messages formatted? Last reply on January 30, 2008 17:13.

I am moving from Trac and my own SVN server to Beanstalk, and all of the commit message formatting that I have been using is all lost, as far as I can tell.

Is there some sort of markup I can use in my commit messages to make them beautiful when browsing in beanstalk?

Finding the subversion URL of an arbitrary directory Last reply on January 29, 2008 04:44.

It would be nice if there were a way to grab the subversion URL of any arbitrary directory within the repository. At the moment (from what I can see) you only provide the URL on the overview screen for the repo.

    Or is this already possible?

Can you provide an "svnadmin dump" of our repository? Last reply on January 29, 2008 03:39.

Our client needs to host their repository locally, so we used the "Export" tool. However, their server runs a different version of SVN, which makes it impossible to use. Is there any way you could provide us with a a "svnadmin dump" of the repository? The account name is "bigwinds".

Can not log in to new repository Last reply on January 30, 2008 23:16.

I've signed up and set up my first repository. I've used TortoiseSVN for some time and am using it here.

I've tried connecting to the repository, and Tortoise seems to think I can. Username and password are both accepted. However, I can't do anything from there - I keep getting a PROPFIND: 403 Forbidden error.

Syncing between Basecamp and Lighthouse Last reply on January 26, 2008 19:25.

There is a high level of overlap in beanstalk (bs), basecamp (bc) and lighthouse (lh). Specifically projects (bs, bc, lh), users (bs, bc, lh), and milestones (bc, lh).

It would be fantastic to sync the projects from basecamp to beanstalk and to lighthouse, and do the same for milestones. This would also go for users. So, considering that basecamp would be the center of operations (used by project managers) we could do the following:
    1) Create a new project in basecamp. Go to beanstalk and flag that project to be "synced". This would auto-create the repository and auto-create a lighthouse project. It would also auto-create all of the appropriate user accounts.

    2) Sync users between Basecamp and beanstalk and lighthouse. If I manage users in lighthouse, it should manage users in beanstalk and lighthouse.

    3) Sync Milestones between Basecamp and Lighthouse.

I realize that basecamp has a weaker API that does not allow for many things to be remotely created. However, it does allow most things to be exported. And lighthouse does a great job with their API allowing you to do nearly anything remotely.

The only draw-back is that there is no way to attach events to basecamp so that when a new milestone, project, user is created that beanstalk can know about it and act accordingly.

Is there any way that I can hide history older than a certain revision from certain users? Last reply on January 19, 2008 17:02.

We have some stuff in older commits that is somewhat sensitive, and we don't want our contractors to see that information. However, we want to retain the history for ourselves. Any ideas?

SVN+SSH with Capistrano Last reply on January 15, 2008 23:21.

I've recently been looking in to moving some of my SVN repositories over to Beanstalk - it looks like a great little app and looks like it could be very useful.

I've got a quick question about SVN+SSH checkout with Beanstalk.

With my current setup I use Capistrano to deploy my Rails apps and that uses SVN+SSH to checkout the latest revision of my code.

It looks something like this "svn+ssh://user@domain.com/~/svn/repository/trunk"

Does Beanstalk allow this kind of access, and if not do you have any suggestions as to how I might configure Capistrano to work with your set up?

    Thanks,
    Mike.
