If you want a good desktop app to get ideas from, "Things" is a great place to start.

Also, if you read the book "Getting things done" it might help with some design ideas down the road.

These are only things that would help if you were looking to make the app more complex (which I'm not wild about if I can't return to its current simplicity).

Inappropriate?I've heard many good things about the book you mention, but have yet to actually read it! I may have to do that one of these days.
You're completely right, the simplicity of the app is what I love, both in using it personally and developing it. I really don't want to see it get as complicated (read bloated) as other task management apps. Those have their place, but they're not useful to me, and I'm sure many others.
I’m thankful
