Excellent question Robert, and one I haven't gone into detail yet on the website. I'll do my best to answer it fully here.

    The Physical
Budgety is housed in a secure facility that is protected by on-site around-the-clock security guards. The facility is complete with bulletproof security stations & a Biometric security system.

All data is backed up nightly, in seven day iterations, to 3 locations across the US. The data is stored in secure facilities, similar to the one I described above.

    The Software
You account is password protected, so it's as secure as the password is against brute force attack. Passwords are stored as one-way encrypted hashes, meaning nobody (not even us!) can decrypt them other than by using brute force.

Your log in cookie, used to remember you between sessions, is encrypted using a 128 char key and 256-bit encryption, making it very hard to "spoof" your log in.

    If "bad" happens
In the event that your account was comprised, no bank data is stored by Budgety, they would only gain access to your budget and transactions. Your plan for your life, which wouldn't be useful to anyone but you.

We're always looking at ways we can improve the security and keep your data safe. Please let me know if you have any questions!
