Who has my ipod????? On September 7th my husband turned in an i pod under the warranty for rapid exchange at the Elk Grove California store . We received a replacement 5 days later that was broken out of the box. He
returned the broken repalacement to the Stockton California store and was told he would have a new one in 3-5
days. On September 23rd he called Stockton to find out why we still do not have a replacement and was told the
Elk Grove store had not closed out the ticket. A few minutes later Mary the store manager called us back and
said it was taken care of and we would have a new ipod in a few days. September 3rd still no Ipod. I called the
store and was told Mary was on vacation and I talked with Larry B the acting store manager and was again told
that he talked to Elk Grove and that it had been sent in and we would just have to wait and that maybe corporate
could help me. I called corporate this morning and was told that a ticket was written for the original ipod on
October 5th , Two days after I talked to Larry and was told it was taken care of and 13 days after we were told by
Mary that it was taken care of. I was then transferred to another agent who told me the ticket was written October 7th (TODAY'S DATE AND THE STORE ISN'T EVEN OPEN YET HOW COULD THEY WRITE A TICKET ? ) I need an ipod today to shipto my son overseas or he will not receive it in time before he ships out. NOT ONLY DOES BEST BUY NOT CARE ABOUT IT'S CUSTOMERS IT DOESN'T CARE ABOUT OUR TROOPS. My questions are: Who is overseeing these people who tell you whatever you want to hear to get you off the phone. Why can a customer not talk to a regional manager or anyone above the store manager ? And How am I supposed to get an Ipod today to send to my son ? I have contacted both of the local television news consumer help departments and I would love to be able to tell them that this matter is closed.

My high-def LCD rear-projection TV has no picture. I bought it at Best buy 3 years ago, and have had many problems with it - 3 prior completed service calls, many parts replaced. It's covered under a 4-year warranty, so when the latest problem happened, I called Best Buy again. Basically, because this would be the 4th service call, they just need a technician to certify that it's broken and they have to replace the TV.

The problem: THEY WON'T COME. Best Buy made 4 appointments with me, then either canceled at the last minute or didn't show up. They say their technician is "injured." Is there only one technician for all of San Diego County, California? Four days ago they said another company (Captain Video TV Service in San Marcos) will call me within 24 hours to make an appointment. They didn't. What the hell?

I have been having a lot of problems with Best Buy in Milford Mass. I bought a refrigerator and they told me they would install my icemaker but keep getting the runaround. First it came in wrong. Its been a two month ordeal with no solutionHelp!!!

My grandpa needed a new computer as his 10 year old windows 98 computer just wasn't cutting it anymore. He asked my dad and I to help him pick one out so we did some research and Consumer Reports says that the eMachines T5254 is one of the best buys for your money. So we did some research and found out the MSRP on it is $399.99. So the main place to buy a computer locally is Best Buy and we went to Best Buys website a couple days ago and sure enough it was $399.99. We couldn't take my grandpa in to get it until today and when we got there Best Buy had it for $499.99 We thought, this couldn't be right. So we looked online and sure enough Best Buy's website had changed as well. So we went to the eMachines website and there was a link to Best Buy to buy it for $399.99. We tried to work it out with Best Buy but they said because they were the only place with it locally they could justify that price.

My grandpa is on a fixed income and arbitrarily charging $100 extra for exclusivity is ridiculous. Especially when the manufacturer says they should be charging $399.99 so Best Buy most likely gets them for around $200-300.

I had bought my laptop from Best Buy in Waterford, CT, so naturally I took it there when, after a couple of years, it repeatedly overheated and crashed. Best Buy sent it to a repair depot. I received a nice call from the repair people: they cleaned the fans and applied heat gease. The lady told me approximately when to expect a call from Best Buy saying my laptop was back.

After waiting several days past the expected date of return, on Friday I called Best Buy in Waterford, CT. Chris gave me the UPS Tracking Number, but said my laptop hadn't been received yet. I checked the UPS Web Site and found that someone at Best Buy had signed for the package on the previous Monday. I called Chris back and explained that Best Buy had received the laptop on Monday. Chris argued with me about having received it! I told him that I would be over and pick it up.

When I got to Best Buy's Waterford store, I asked to speak with the store manager (_not_ the head of the Geek Squad). I spoke with Jay and reported the situation so far.

Jay walked me to the Geek Squad desk. They could not find the package with my laptop. After they eventually did find it, I requested that they boot it up and check to be sure it stayed up. John ran some kind of tests on it, and it looked OK to him. (The laptop was too far away for me to see what he did or what was on the screen.) When John initiated shutdown, the laptop was busy for quite a while. When I asked what it was doing, John replied that it was installing updates!

I had brought the laptop to Best Buy for a _hardware_ problem. I did not authorize any updates, and would not have let anyone do any updates, or even testing, had I known. I intentionally kept my laptop running an older version of Internet Explorer in order to test Web Sites that I develop and maintain.

There are three issues here: 1) My equipment was in the store from Monday through Friday, they didn't know it was there, and I didn't get a call; B) at least one Best Buy employee lied; III) unwanted software was installed against my will.

I urge you not to let Best Buy work on your equipment.
