Virus Attacks while in chatroom HELP!
I admin a userplane chat on my Ning site. Today several users have complained of getting malware/virus attacks while in the open chat window. Could this be a blendapps issue? Ning issue? I don't even know where to start...HELP!
Here is a brief description from one of our users:
"Donata:ATTACK FROM 204.95.40.87 PORT 25167 ATTACK PORT 43459 THREAT BankerFox.A
Donata:ATTACK FROM 215.138.67.26 port 25167 attacked port 9954 Threat Win32/Nugel E."
She and a handful of other users have stated if it happens again they are deleting their accounts...

The ads in the userplane chatrooms have now been disabled up until this issue has been fixed. Of course this is all very serious, we at Blendapps are not in the business of spreading viruses or anything else that is harmful to the users of our chat solution, and we appologize for all the problems this have caused. Disabling the ads will at least addres this in the shortterm while we and userplane are looking for a long term solution to the problem.
We will keep you updated.

Inappropriate?Scan type: Realtime Protection Scan
Event: Virus Found!
Virus name: Bloodhound.PDF.1
Was in my temp files and appeared to relate to the banner.
I think there might be viruses originating in the banners that display at the bottom of the chat. -
Inappropriate?I agree...but what is Blendapps doing to address this???? My malware warning on my google chrome has been going crazy for the past two days, all relating to the banner ads...!
I’m FRUSTRATED

Inappropriate?I'm not sure if those ads are specific to blendapps or if they go to all userplane...

Inappropriate?I contacted userplane here: http://www.userplane.com/index.cfm?fu...

Thank you for your help and input! I will see what they tell me on userplane...! -
Inappropriate?I am also pushing userplane for an answer. As soon as I hear back from them I will let you know. Unfourtunatly this is all going via userplanes servers, so we at Blendapps can not really stop it from our end, if we could have done so we already would!
