Why when I activate a family of fonts do only 2 variations show up in illustrator?!!
Why when I activate a family of fonts do only 2 variations show up in illustrator even though fontcase says that they are all activated?!! The font in question is Gotham, in fact this seems to happen with all of the Hoefler fonts, is this because they are suitcases? Can this be fixed?

Inappropriate?I too am having problems with some Type 1 fonts in suitcases. Though FontCase shows all the fonts in the suitcase as active, only one or two actually work in other applications. I sent an email to FontCase askng about the problem but have received no answer. I'm hoping the above statement that the company marked it as solved is NOT valid because the problem is NOT solved. I have the latest version--1.1.1.

Inappropriate?My apologies to Glo MacDonald for now answering the email - I was away for a few days unable to answer emails.
The problem is most likely that Fontcase didn't recognise all the files belonging to these fonts. Fontcase 1.1 has fixed this problem to my knowledge, but old fonts that were only partially imported still wont work - only for new fonts.
Re-importing will probably fix the problem, but I see how that can be inconvenient.
Maybe there is another solution. Can anyone, on one of the fonts that dont activate as a whole, right-click and click 'show in finder'? I'm curious what files will be present in that folder. -
Inappropriate?I'm still having the same problems, despite re-importing my entire font collection, plus Fontcase is very unstable and I keep having to force quit!

Why don't you NOT import your entire Collection? Try importing a very small subset and see how Fontcase behaves. If it behaves itself, add some more and see, ... -

Inappropriate?I'm surprised the last comment on this was 3 months ago — I'm definitely still having issue in latest version (albeit with InDesign/Photoshop). Interesting that Gotham was providing trouble, mine is fine, yet other HFJ fonts are screwing up, namely Whitney. I'm also having trouble with Trade Gothic.
Selecting "Show in Finder" does show all of the fonts. Activating fonts, quitting the app, and then re-opening shows them as de-activated again occasionally, sometimes still active, but still not available.
Definitely a deal breaker for the app at the moment, as it's affecting some of my favorite fonts- -
Inappropriate?As far as I know, the problem is solved. It might be because the fonts were wrongly imported from the beginning. Does re-importing the fonts help at all?

Inappropriate?I'm a newbie to fontcase with the latest version, and this is the first issue i've encountered.... when i activate a font called 'stymie' with all its four weights, it only shows one weight in illustrator (light)... if i deactivate this one weight it changes to a different one, never all four. I've tried removing and re importing this font but have had no success... i'm sure this won't be the only font that does it.
While i'm here i want to ask something in a similar vein... as we all know illustrator has two drop downs for type... one that selects the font and a second that allows you to choose the weight.
When i activate a font family called 'Knockout' by Hoefler-frere jones it lists all 32 weights in the first drop down box... rather than just having it set as a single family. How can i fix this?? -
Inappropriate?I'm not positive, but I believe that's not an issue to do with FontCase, but rather with the font file itself. I believe it may be improperly "hinted", or its possible that its an adobe conflict. I experience this same problem in photoshop regularly.

Inappropriate?Could you maybe send me this font Drew? Then I can see for myself and maybe find a reason for this. I'm not aware of any issues, but then again, there are so many fonts and they never all work quite the same...

Inappropriate?I'm also having the same problems. Ever since I bought FontCase I've had nothing but trouble. It's got a great interface and is headed in the right direction, but it's incredibly buggy and unstable to the point I can't even use it anymore. Very disappointing for a $65 app...

I'm sorry to hear about all your problems. I will be more than happy to refund your purchase if you would prefer that. Of course I will try to resolve the issues but I perfectly understand if you don't want to wait for this to happen. Fonts are strange creatures and what works on one mac may not work on another. It's not an easy situation.
