duplicated movies

When my movies are added, most of them are duplicated and show up as grouped items (an arrow to the right of the movie name when viewing in list view) even though i only have the one source added and only one file of each movie. This seems to be only happening to movies not tv shows and happens to be most of the movies that are added first and not many of the ones added last. Many of the ones added last would have added after a boxee restart as well. This problem has happened to many people as i can see from the boxee forums. For me, i am using an external hardrive attached to my apple tv with the latest version 0.9.11.5774. I have tried many things like erasing database and letting movies be scanned again, also have tried reinstalling boxee with no luck in solving this problem.
