Iphone / android / bberry remote control application
It would be very cool to create a remote control app for controlling boxee functionality when it is hooked up to a tv. This application would hopefully replace the need to use a keyboard or remote. Think the remote application that Apple released.
Charging for this would be reasonable (obviously not required however) and an interesting rev stream ($3 -$5 maybe).

Inappropriate? There already is an iPhone web interface
Make sure your web interface server option is turned on, under settings -> network -> servers
then point your iphone towards
http://appletv.local:8888/iphone/
It is still pretty limited, and is basically the same offering the XBMC had. You cannot access any of the native Boxee content such as social feeds, integrated content such as hulu, revision 3, or rss feeds, ect.
At least it is something for now, ideally it would be nice to have an app the works like Apple's Remote, to allow full control over the content. I have been working on tweaking the current iphone interface to integrate with Boxee more, and Boxee branded.
I’m happy

So, just to be clear, the iphone remote only works if you have an Apple TV setup. Would be great if there was an option that could be used on a Windows laptop. -
Inappropriate?XBMC have an actual native application for the iPhone on the appstore- With some tweaking, adding of community features. It could be amazing- and bring Boxee additional revenue.
I’m excited!!!

Inappropriate?@iBeech the XBMC thing would be very cool to modify, is it open source ?
I agree about there already being a web interface but this would be a premium app that could easily have a way more elegant experience that what the web could offer.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?FYI; XBMC Remote is now open source: http://remote.collect3.com.au/
I am not sure about the source code license though and its compatibility.

Inappropriate? The Blackberry Storm's API just came out recently so maybe someone could take a look at that. The interface would be IDENTICAL to iPhone app, with possibly the addition of using a screen "click" as well! Problem is that the Storm doesn't have WIFI, only Bluetooth.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Maybe a Windows Mobile app too?

Inappropriate?Let me start by saying I really don't know much about the programming involved with Boxee or the current iphone remote app, but I thought it would be amazingly convenient if the following interface was possible. The iPhone could display the info for whatever is playing on the tv/computer, as well as having the simple playback controls when needed. You would be able to search through the media on your computer/network/internet on the phone itself, while the media on the tv continues to play. The Boxee interface would fit naturally on the iPhone when in landscape, and maybe it could transition back to the current gesture mode when in portrait. Like I said, I really don't know exactly what is possible in these respects, but I for one would definitely pay a few dollars for the app if this was implemented.
