Option to disable applications which users are not interested in
As i'm in the UK, a lot of the video content (and quite possibly audio) content will not work for me. And there are some applications which i'm simply not interested in.
I would like the option of disabling undesired applications in settings.

Inappropriate?iBeech: another great idea actually... never thought about it... but quite enoying actually when an app shows but it can't be used as a result of your location.
I think this idea is similar to another one... which says that applications should be more integrated with your "localisation settings"... and they will be auto disabled if you are not located in the country that the app supports.
But it should be possible to disable/enable them manually as well.. cause some would want to use a proxy to access certain apps, but still keep the correct local settings from where you actually are located.. and not the proxy

Inappropriate?so in regards to these two ideas.
we are working on filtering the available content based on your local settings/geo location (with an override option).
in the mean time you can go to settings->applications->update/remove (i know its not the optimal location, we are working on it) - there you can remove apps as you like.

Inappropriate? They have already implemented this. I think it is under settings-> applications, you can disable/update the list of displayed sources, i.e. BBC iplayer for US users.

Inappropriate?amazing idea, would love to see this feature, but not using geo location only based on the information you put into boxee settings.
the checking should work the same way the service is checking - in case of hulu and movies.msn.de based on the IP address location.
because I can also get an US IP using VPN connection in austria ;)
I’m excited

Inappropriate? This seems to be added under the Windows Alpha under App Box. Haven't had a chance to check the Ubuntu Alpha yet. it's nice though.

Correct. You can easily delete an app under the App Box menu. Also, you can add new Apps in that menu - as well as new Apps from other repositories (dir.boxeehq.com). Very cool ! -
Inappropriate?ok, disable/enable option is good, but not easy to handle. and boxee should be an easy to handle tool, also my mum and my dad can use.
this means disable apps based on location and IP address - so they do not get bothered by hulus damn legal stuff that they do not have an US IP and are not allowed to use the service.
also it would be cool to see, first at all more, germain channels and to order them at the beginning if I am locate in a german speaking country. -
Inappropriate?as stated - you can now remove applications through the app box.
