Post some boxee plugin tutorials to stimulate development.
If there were some tutorials on writing cross-platform plugins for boxee with the new api, this would encourage people who are thinking about developing them. I'm thinking about creating a twitter plugin, but don't know where to start - I know there's raw API docs but a step by step simple plugin guide will push things forward - worked for Apple TV homebrew in the past!

Inappropriate?we will provide more examples, but you can start by looking at http://developer.boxee.tv/2009/04/14/...

Inappropriate? The example is great except the app doesn't show up in windows so I can't get any of the resources.
Could you guys also add a zip containing all the app pieces as well as make it available for windows?
I really want to get moving with developing apps but I could use a working example to play with.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Ok, I have solved the issues with the example app (beside the fact that I cant find a link to the graphics anywhere and the plugin isn't available in my windows version).
For the link to the YouTube playlist be sure that the amperstand & the comes before rss stays an &. In the online tutorial, it looks like it's automatically being converted to an &. It took me figuring out how to turn on logging, playing with the YouTube API for a while, and bashing my head against the wall for about 3 hours to figure out this typo.
The last issue I found is, I don't have the API available in the version I'm using (0.9.9.5324). I figured that I was missing the mc python module (because it is referenced but never imported) until I looked it up and found out that it is your new Python API. I would download and update to the latest Alpha but I accidentally deleted the original download email and there is no way to have it re-sent.
It would probably save you guys some red herring bugs and time if you made a note at the top of the tutorial saying what version is required to use the new API for development. I know it should be obvious, but for newb plugin devs like me, it isn't always.
Looks like I won't be doing anymore App development until June unless I can get another email with the link to the download. BTW, my Boxee username is Coolguy.
Maybe I'll try to get the Academic Earth XBMC plug-in to work since it doesn't use the new API.
I’m disappointed

replace the first two & in the previous comment with &. I accidentally did it too. Damn escape characters... ;)
