Serving My Media to other devices?
DNLA Server? I love using Boxee as an interface to turn my computer into a proper device that should be connected to my entertainment center (i.e. TV & Surround Sound system), but how about serving up the media it's managing to other devices? Support for streaming to the Xbox360 (which is some kind of adaptation of UPnP), _AND_ support for streaming to the Playstation3 (which is via DLNA) would be amazing.
Currently, I'm planning to use a combination of Boxee for the widescreen monitor I have connected to my PC, while simultaneously running TwonkyMediaServer to serve up my content to my Xbox360 and/or PS3 ( http://www.twonkymedia.com/index.html ); but there is some redundancy in this solution. I would love to tag and categorize all my music through Boxee's interface, and browse the database it would create and/or update from these other devices. Instead I'll have two separate systems crawling directories for whenever I add new content, and two different systems managing databases of my music, pictures, and videos - completely independent of one another...

Inappropriate?I think that would be a really great idea too, DLNA seems to be picking up and more and more devices now support it. I saw that XMBC is already supporting it, so it shouldn't be that hard to implement...
I’m excited

Inappropriate?I'm all for one media hub, let's bring it together and make Boxee our one complete solution

Inappropriate?I'm currently using playon from http://www.themediamall.com/playon for serving up HULU to my tv via the xbox 360. But Boxee's feature look ohhh so tasty. Do support dnla devices like the 360. I promise ya, you would win over a slew of fans!

Inappropriate? It would be great to see a centralized, open source media library backend that all of our media front ends could talk to (Boxee, XBMC, iTunes, TiVo -- yes, i'm dreaming). That way, the information is stored just once, and updated in one location. A Media Manager GUI for the media library would be a great touch as well, to fix any mis-matches that may occur. The media library could even be setup as a service. IE: Boxee sends a request for all Tv Shows in the library, and wants them formatted as separate NFO files, TiVo sends the same request but wants TiVo specific files.
