How it is possible to receive an invite in Brightkite? Very much it would be desirable to test and look that inside! =( Somebody, help me plz 7enoff@gmail.com
I'd love to be able separate my friends into channels, so that I can have a work channel and friends channel, and send locations and updates to one channel or another... or both.
It's the one thing that twitter is missing, and now that we use twitter for work, I don't tweet as much, because there are things I share with one group, but not the other.
I just sent out my first invite and requested friendship, which was accepted. I received an email with the following subject line (actual name removed):
[name here] has accepted your friendship request
The email body was blank. At minimum, I'd like you to provide a link back to the site and the new member's profile page.
i'm on a new iMac using safari.
when i upload a picture to brightkite via the website,
it then says "Photo posted - click to close"
when my browser refreshes it downloads a file?!?!?
the file is: photos.js
huh?
I just signed up, took me a second to figure out how to search for usernames I knew, since that info is not linked in the "Find people you know" panel. Even just some text telling me to look up and see it would help. Furthermore, let's add an import address book function :)
i think brightkite is a potentially great service, but it's utility to new users is ~0 if we only get 1 invite. it's a social service, think network effects.
I was hoping I could get some more invites. I work with a lot of people that love to try out and spread new technology and I just don't have enough invites for all of them. If it helps, let me say that we are all in a unique position to recommend cool products to prospective customers.
I would love to have some more invites. I have a lot of people in my social stream that could benefit from BrightKite. I love its integration with Twitter, and it is so nice to see something that has actual value come into the twittersphere (and the social networking genre)
