Brightkite

I am from the Netherlands and I am soon going to buy an iPhone. I believe Brightkite is very promising since it is one of the best location based services outhere for Europeans, and unlike Loopt its free. My issue:

I believe this service to be only very successful if it can run completely automatically. With this i mean that the application runs in the background (in the iPhone's case with the push service apple provides) giving periodic checkins wherever i might be, continuously, every 5 or 10 minutes or so. I hope this is possible to implement, optional at-least. Please let me hear from one of the people inside the company if this option is or will be in the pipeline.

My Brightkite posts don't seem to be cross-posting with Twitter this morning. Is that still down?

I've tried emailing photos a few times from my iPhone to the email address on my "Mobile" page, but nothing's appearing on the site. Any suggestions as to what's up? (I just sent a test shot from my laptop, and that went fine)

For example, i was at a cafe and when i typed in the address it said it could not be found. I would like to see functionality that allows users to add businesses based on address.

Additionally, I entered in an address to check in to and BK gave me the wrong business name. How can I correct this? Also, where are you pulling your address data from?

How it is possible to receive an invite in Brightkite? Very much it would be desirable to test and look that inside! =( Somebody, help me plz 7enoff@gmail.com

I'd use brightkite more often if it had an instant photo or record now option (much like writing on the Facebook wall). For example, I'd like to be able to check in, take a quick photo (with my macbook's built in camera), and move on.

I would like an account.

Would it be possible to dismiss the blue "Mobile Brightkite" box that appears on my friends view? It is taking up valuable space and I only need the information once. Another option is to move it below my "Active friends".

I have 3 invites left to Brightkite if any one needs them. I didn't realize they were still a commodity.

It would be nice if urls were linked in comments like they are in main posts.

Not a huge deal, just a pain to cut and paste them each time.

The last new entry is from 12 hours ago, yet I see my friends updates in the BrightKite Universe.

Currently, fire eagle gets my exact location from brightkite. Consequently, my blog that is pulling my location from fire eagle displays my exact location.

Is it possible to define a less accurate position that gets sent from bk to fe? For instance, I would like fe only to receive the city from bk, not the exact position so that my blog will only get the city, too.

how can I add a placemark that does not have an adresse - i.e. a spot in the middle of a park, or somewhere outside the city?

The FAQ on the site mentions a LEAVE command you can send in an SMS and/or email that is effectively an undo for a check in. Sounds nice to use when starting travel for instance; I can then check in at the new location I arrive at when I get there and I want Brightkite users to know where I am again.

How do I access that LEAVE functionality from the main website? I don't seem to be able to find it...

Fire eagle updates are they bi-directional?
It appears that Brightkite updares Fireagle, but not visa versa.

Is this the intended mode of operation?

As Fire Eagle is designed to serve locations, I expected Fire Eagle to feed Brightkite.

Why not support the UK mobile operators? We're practically the 51st state!

Maybe I'm missing something, but is there a view that shows all notes on the area map based upon their location? For visiting new cities or checking out new areas of town, this seems to be a very helpful feature for finding out what's nearby (and worth checking out).

Has anyone at brightkite worked on a dashboard widget for OSX? Or are you planing for someone in the community to write one once the API is released?

Is there a way to post a photo, caption AND location from my Blackberry?
