Hi, new user here. I was disappointed to hear you are at odds with verizon sms, but since I have a blackberry the emailing in of photos and updates is an easy enough work around. However I have sent in two photos already and neither has ever shown up, what gives with that?
Also notes and checkins by email, according to your email guide, require me to delete my signature from the emails. Since with a blackberry this is an all or nothing option, and I use my blackberry for more than just emails to brightkite this really isn't an option for notes or checkins.
I can check in with the m.brightkite.com but... that is a painfully low process, that prtty much just sucks the fun out of using this service.
I have heard rumor of an actual brightkite application for blackberry comming soon? I would love to help betatest that if it's true.
How about IM update from GTalk in the same mode as the email updates. For those of us on the move who can't use SMS yet, but can access GTalk (e.g. from Blackberry 8000 series etc.), it would seem like a reasonable halfway house. Email is OK, but I don't fancy having a load of sent messages in my work mail account when I could just be banging an XMMP message Brightkite's way :)
I seem to be able to check-in (first block), the second block seems to also be a business search block, the third block seems to be a person-search block. This is not clear to the user, especially when the drop-down does nothing.
clicking on post a note or photo bumps you right back up to the check-in section.
*basically* How do you post a note to your BK stream using the site via Blackberry?
So I inputed my mobile / cell phone number, but never received my confirmation number. Is this because it's Canada and not the U.S.? Or is there something else going on? (My phone is a Blackberry Pearl 8130, FYI).
While the iPhone site is rockin', sometimes I just want to checkin. I know it's lame or I'm cheap, but I don't have unlimited SMS, but do have access to the web on my mobile (this could work for Blackberry users too). If you offered literally a Google-like input box on m.brightkite.com or something and allowed me to enter SMS commands and get the same response, but via the web, that would ROCK.
Let's have a Blackberry application! Why should iPhone users have all the fun? It would be great to have even just a little of the awesome functionality of the BrightKite website on my Blackberry.
