Is there a way to correct a wrong name on a business?
My question specifically is about http://brightkite.com/places/aef0ba57...
It reads: Cook, C Shane CRS, SRES, - C Shane Cook CRS, Carolina Property GMAC Real Est
While Shane Cook *is* ONE of the realtors at the company, the company is Carolina Property GMAC Real Estate. Is there a way for users to correct this sort of problem or is it a case-by-case manually moderated sort of thing?
Allow sub-location check-ins. After checking in with "@location", use "#sublocation". This is different from a 'say', because it's a refinement of the location.
Examples:
"@rec center", "#in the pool"
"@work", "#conference room 3"
"@Hacienda Colorado", "#The Tequila Room"
When I ?business and it responds with 3 options and the 2nd is correct. Do I txt @2 and Brightkite knows which address, or do I have to physically enter the full address?
The where/what option is infuriating to use if you don't have the location in your DB.. I use the same search term, "fuel coffee, 98112" in Google maps, and it's the second result. I'm sure that the same one is in one of the 747 results on BK, but.. they're not paginated?
I will say that I really like your syntax over what twitter allowed to emerge. BUT, I'd like to see you allow concatenated requests.
It would be really great if you allowed me to use the following syntax:
?{business} @city, state
This would allow me to search for a place to check-in, in a city that I am just arriving to. With this capability, I don't have to bombard my friends with more than one message ... especially when the cities might be very close. The response to this message would be the list of businesses that I specified, in the city that I specified. I could then reply with the number of the business and like magic ... I'm now checked in all at once with minimal SMS transactions.
Now, as programmers know, you ought to also support the syntax:
@city, state ?business
This is just the reverse, but would perform the same action.
So use your special characters as delimiters ... and allow them to be concatenated for efficiency.
if i have set up a placemark for a business on the web, it saves as the address, not the name of the business. is there any way to associate the name of the company with the address?
e.g., http://brightkite.com/objects/734485e... is my gym, but the only way i can figure out how to get a business name to show up is if i do something like "?bally" via sms for a business lookup. not so convenient when all i want to say is @gym, you know?
other than that, great job--can't wait for some sort of phone gps integration ;)
I searched for a restaurant that is up the road and was able to find it. The search result shows the correct name and address, but when I clicked on the result to see the place stream, the street number gets dropped off and the map centers on the street only not on the actual location of the restaurant.
ie. I searched for Wasabi in san antonio, tx. The result shows the address "9921 W I-10, San Antonio, TX" but when you click on the business name the place stream only has "W I-10, San Antonio, TX" as the address.
