No matter what I do, I'm getting a message saying that the change I tried was rejected - browsing to the home page, checking in, checking my friends... I suspect that somehow my username (which I just registered today) is corrupted. Can you fix it?
I have previously marked a location as private (with a 300 meter radius), then I changed it back to "According to my current privacy mode" and even "Always Public" - but all checkins at this location continue to be marked as private regardless of my privacy mode. I tried deleting the place mark/locations etc .. but still my checkins are private.
I can find nearby shops using "Search & checked in". but, when I check in shop, I check at "5631 Å, Denmark, DK". I don't be in Denmark.
I tried to search by shop's name with google map search, I was got shop's address. But, I tried to search by shop's address, I was got "NOT FOUND". I think this is cause.
If I send in a text message with an update as follows:
@Coordinates-Here [Location name here]
If I try as below, it fails as well:
@Coordinates[Company]
Basically what I'm doing is trying to log in to on-campus locations with coordinates and naming the building I'm in.
I've been trying to check in at locations during the day using SMS and Mobile E-Mail all day and it's been unreliable at best. Using the web interface is inconvenient, so it would be a boon if this could get stabilized.
The Browser in S60v3 (Prior to Feature Pack 1) seems to have an issue with the Mobile Web page. Web (the true web browser) doesn't seem to like all pages coded for WAP, and treats them like downloads. I'm often finding this cropping up quite randomly. Using the Services browser (intended for WAP, but far less functional) I have no problems, but it's slower and more of a pain to use. Is this just a relic from an older revision, or a part of the design?
When I post notes via SMS or e-mail (even when photos are attached) random spaces end up in my posts (mostly in the middle of words). It's not really much of a problem as it is an annoyance.
Privacy is not working the way I expect. I'm set to private and my notes are private, but my check-ins are public. The description of private says "Only your friends can see your checkins and posts at full accuracy." I can still see my check-ins when I visit my page, not logged in.
I tried to check-in via mobile yesterday afternoon. I did not receive a text reply until an hour later. Oddly, I received 6 text replies at once. After disregarding, I received another 14 text replies. A few times, it checked me into random locations. I have since received 8 more text replies. Please advise.
For the last two or three days, checking in at a place then immediately submitting a photo shows a long delay between the two events. I have done both with in seconds of each other and the check-in shows up quickly. The photo e-mailed immediately afterward shows in my timeline up to an hour after the check-in. Sometimes the photo of the place I originally checked in to shows up after I check in to a new location causing a non-linear timeline. Included photo had an actual delay between check-in and emailed photo of about 30 minutes. Displayed delay is 2:30. So, 2 hours after emailed photo is appeared in timeline. This is just this afternoons example.
Brightkite just posted to twitter with a location for me that is several hundred miles out and certainly not where I checked in...... Looks liek IDs got confused somewhere.
i'm excited about brightkite and look forward to using it to find my friends in the real world. however, my experience so far has consisted only of about 10 annoying check-in messages from some stranger named Mona. I see in your FAQ:
("Why am I receiving messages from people I don't know? Check your "Nearby Notifications" settings in your Account Settings.")
...that I can change this setting but I urge you to change the default to "friends only". Otherwise everyone who dips their toe in like me will get annoyed before they get value, and most will unsubscribe.
Also it would be nice if the incoming SMS messages said they were from brightkite, rather than from "80289" which just looks like SMS spam. I don't think that's who you want to be.
I tried checking in via website at Bongo Billie's in Buena Vista, CO. It showed up correctly in the search, but when I checked in, it put me somewhere in Wisconsin.
cannot turn off "checks in" notifications
See screengrab of settings: http://www.bbhgraze.com/z/jing/2008-0...
Even tho I have unchecked notifications for "checks in", I receive emails like this one:
"pennykim checked in @ 1300 E Lookout Dr, Richardson, TX 75082, USA="
Not only is she outside my radius, but I don't want to receive check in notifications. I do, however, want to receive her posts always. How can I achieve this?
