I tried renaming my 'work' placemark but i could edit it. Had to create a new one altogether. Is this right or not obvious to me where i can edit. Thanks.

I'd like the ability to edit our notes and locations, as well as maybe being able to insert location check-ins into the past. Here's why:

Sending a text with the '&' characters cuts off the rest of the message. Would be nice to sit down at a computer later on and edit that, keeping the time and location, and keeping things neat. Instead, I just had to make a note later explaining a previous note, and it's sloppy feeling and useless to the present.

While out traveling, I forgot to check-in to different locations, so I sent pictures and notes and they're all assigned to my home. No way I see to edit the location. That sucks because I didn't want to delete all those notes and pictures--and everything after--just to fake checking in, in the proper order, and remembering my later notes and possibly re-entering them again, too. Plus, it costs money to send pictures over mobile phone, so who wants to send it twice just to make up for not being able to edit.

I also forgot to check in at a lot of places I visited while traveling, even though I'd like them to show up on places I've been and have a sort of visual representation of my journeying. It'd be nice if I could just insert a check-in and enter the date and time. If people forget to check in, they can sit down when they remember and enter it in on their computer or whatever and fill things out. Maybe then also be able to append notes to check ins into the past, too.

I would love for there to be a way to change an existing post's status to private (or even change the location it is associated with).

For example, I posted an image via email before realizing that I wasn't checked in at the place I was, so the picture is associated with my home address instead of another of my placemarks. I would like to flip this *post* to private or be able to change its location.

Perhaps giving a 30-minute window in which either action can be performed, just like getsatisfaction allows posters 15 minutes to edit their comments?

the ability to edit the location on posts and photos would be awesome. most of my photos end up posted to the wrong locations and i can't fix them...

How do I edit a post? I made a typo in a caption on a mobile upload. I jut want to edit and fix the typo. E.g. http://brightkite.com/objects/b6f233c...

I would like to edit my visited places because I thought I set up a placemark but didn't and I ended up checking in 2000 miles away somewhere in Indiana. Is it possible to edit check-ins? If so how?
