If notes' limits are 140 characters because of SMS limitations, who posts notes directly through Brightkite site could have more than 140. It would be better to explain what you'll be doing, or where you are going.

Inappropriate?Hi Renata, thank you for the idea. We keep this limit at 140 because we want to remain consistent throughout the site and we have to consider that people are receiving notifications for posts via SMS. One thing you can try that I've noticed other people doing is to post a comment along with your note if it needs a longer description.
