Add the ability to create private residential locations (for incoming dodgeball users)
On dodgeball, we use private locations to coordinate a monthly event. It changes locations from house to house. These locations will not be on Britekite. Although you can check in at the address, we'd like to be able to check in at or query the location (in this case the event is called "2621"). Another requirement would be to change the address for the location as needed. These locations wouldn't be posted to the public feed regardless of your current setting, and would only be visible/usable by linked friends.

Inappropriate?Robstandard, this is a good idea but a little bit trickier to implement given the way our privacy works now. We will have to think about the best ways to do something like this.
One thing you can do is placemark an address and apply sticky privacy settings for that place. So if your group knows in advance where you all are meeting, everyone can search that location in Brightkite and placemark it as "2621" using the "Add to placemarks" button in the top right of the page. Once you've done that you can click the "Privacy at this place" button and make that location always private. Then when it comes time for the meeting, everyone can send "@2621" via SMS and have it check them in privately at that location.
I hope that helps until we have a chance to figure something else out.
