Can we twitter placemark names instead of addresses?
The more people who like this idea, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate? This is great for me since I keep my profile public to anyone. Think about this in the creepy way where tech savvy robbers can simply watch brightkite to follow people's lives then hit when they're not home.
I’m indifferent

Inappropriate?Yes we are working on implementing this. Expect this soon.

Inappropriate? This should be an optional feature because many times I use shorthand to make checking in faster.
For Example: The southern most Walmart on Bardstown road I may call WMbardS
Of course I know what that is, but my friends may not.
I’m not soo sure.

Inappropriate? What is frustrating is being able to "customize" how Bkite sends updates to twitter, but not being able to override the automatic insertion of the (address/location) of your check-in place. Bkite gives us the option to customize "$place" yet still automatically inserts the address, city and state information, even though you can add "$city" and "$state". I wouldn't consider this buggy, it's more of a specifics and organizational issue.
I’m waiting.

The issue with the $place variable still displaying the full address in Twitter is a known problem and we are working to fix it. Thank you for your patience. :)
