Consolidate check in and notes
I want to be able to check in AND post a note in the same move. Right now these TWO actions show up as TWO tweets in Twitter and that's annoying.

I would like to be able to do this as well, though, just to save text messages and time. -

Near as I can figure, SMS just won't do that easily. I read somewhere BK is building a cross-platform phone app to check in (maybe even automatically, maybe via GPS and/or cell phone towers) and post simultaneously.
It's early days with Brightkite for sure. I'm still waiting to check in someplace and get a message back saying another user is there too. Lots of fun though! -

Inappropriate?Consolidating the checkin and posting actions is still on our radar, it just had to take a backseat to some things that are higher priority. Though, just to be clear, the actions will be consolidated but the events themselves will remain separate. You will still see separate entries for checkins, notes, and photos in both your Brightkite and Twitter streams.

I cross-post to twitter because it's how I still interact with my friends that aren't on Brightkite (still on Twitter exclusively), it works out just fine.. Even draws some people to use Brightkite.
