does bright kite for the iphone 3g replace sms
i have a new 3g iphone and dont want the sms built in the phone to popup when a new message is received. if i install brightkite will that app replace the sms app on the iphone and will the brightkite app have settings to suppress the message from the main screen of the phone?

Inappropriate?Jim, you can disable SMS notifications under Account Settings -> Notifications. Up at the top you will see the option to turn off "All Notifications" for SMS and Email, just select "Off" for SMS and be sure to click "Save" down at the bottom.

Inappropriate?The native app will eventually handle notifications via Apple's promised push notifications, if they materialize.
