Editing placemarks
It would good to be able to edit placemarks. Currently you can either checkin or delete only.

Inappropriate? This seems like an obvious feature, why was it left out? When I add a new placemark, I often discover that I want to rename it to something more SMS-friendly, so I have to completely delete it and recreate it with the new word or phrase.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I agree. BrightKite is pretty unuseful to me until I can rename addresses.
I’m frustrated, too.

You can give custom names to addresses. See this thread: http://getsatisfaction.com/brightkite... -
Inappropriate? If you could adjust the location too that would be handy where BK gets the locations slightly wrong. It would be nice to set the place mark where I want rather than where BK thinks it should be (but isn't)

Inappropriate?Dragging and dropping to the correct location not only would be boss, but highly necessarily in situations that do not have a physical address, like when you go camping or to the beach.

this is one of the best points

Agreed. A lot of the places from which I want to check in aren't on a street, i.e. the lake, swimming spot, hiking areas, bike path, etc. -
Inappropriate? It would also be nice for new users if you could add placemarks from your browser without actually checking in.
-
You can make placemarks with out checking in. Enter the address or buisiness and then click on the "Add to Placemarks" button instead of the "check in here" button -
sbergus is correct. You can do this on the main website and the mobile/iPhone versions. -
I see that now. Thank you for responding. -
Inappropriate?+1 for Jon's idea. Having to delete a placemark, then re-create it just so I can edit, for example, the name, is kind of annoying.
