Email checkins failing
When I email Brightkite to check in at a place (sending @ work - for example) with nothing in the message body, I get an error message back.

Inappropriate?hi jason, i have to ask the obvious (please don't take offense), but did you define "work" as a placemark? also have you tried @work i.e. without the space?
-
Yes, work is defined a s a placemark, and I have tried with and without the space between @ & the placemark... -
Inappropriate?I've had the same problem for the several days I've tried BKite, and yes, I've added placemark and tried with and without space between @ and place. It is sometimes funny getting "did you mean main Liberia" for my main st. placemark, but more often frustrating since I really want to do travel reports from Bkite.
I’m ready for it to work.

Inappropriate?try the following email:
_____
to: <your personalised brightkite email address>
subject: <left blank>
body: @ work (or what ever placemark you've define)
<delete any remaining email fluff like signatures, disable them if necessary>
_____
can you paste an export of the sent mail you're sending? don't forget to blank out your own email address and your brightkite address!
I’m confident

That worked: thank you. -
It would be really helpful if you updated your help section to reflect this. Especially for those of us outside the US who have to use email to interact with Brightkite. -
that's great to hear jason! -
Inappropriate?Hi all. We are adding the email check-in & posting to the help section. Sorry it was not in there from the get go.
The company says
this solves the problem

Thanks Brady: appreciate the speed with which you dealt to this issue. -
Inappropriate?I just realized I was in the wrong problem area as my problem was sending a text check-in, not email. Sorry.
I’m senile
