Extend the Twitter functionality for a killer iPhone app!!
Thanks for the great work.
I know that Brightkite isn't a Twitter application, but are there any plans in incorporating more Twitter functionality? The ability to see your Twitter feed/friends would be phenomenal. There are many of us iPhone users that use Brightkite and Twinkle.
It would be nice to have one great killer application for our location-based Twitter needs.

Inappropriate?I know. All my updates go to twitter which is awesome. The reverse functionality of Twitter updates going to Brightkite would be icing on a very tasty cake.
-
Inappropriate? That would run the risk of it running in a constant loop. Twitter goes to Brightkite, same post goes to Twitter, goes back to Brightkite... There would have to be some sort of filter on both sides to prevent that.
I think they should both merge and takeover the world.

Inappropriate?Brightkite + Twitter = World Domination
I never thought of the loop. A Twitter post doesn't have to actually update Brightkite. Brightkite would just have to tap into your Twitter feed. I so wish I knew how APIs worked.
I'm looking forward to seeing the iPhone native app when it's released.

Inappropriate?i want to like bkite. i really do. but it is annoying to use. the interface on the iphone is annoying, the sms features are hard to config and the excessive SMS traffic it generates make me want to cancel my account. i fixed the SMS issue, but i had to wait until i got to a computer since i can't change my SMS prefs from the iphone interface. BAD FORM bkite.
observation: bkite should really stop tring to be another twitter. instead empower twitter.
the i have used twitter, bkite and twinkle on the iphone and twinkle/twitter relationship is currently the strongest. twinkle looks up my current location from the iphones "almost-gps" provided in the google map application and checks me in. i can also add a photo as i craft my post and attach it all within the same screen. after playing with both bkite and twinkle i find it is less important to know my exact location than it is to look it up effortlessly. the checkin process on twinkle is so fast and easy i dont even care that it is accurate to only 100m of my actual spot.
bkite, you need to talk to twitter and get an api established and take info from them or you will never know where i am cause i am not jumping thru your hoops anymore.
I’m frustrated
