Inappropriate?Miles, there is no ETA yet, but we are working on Facebook integration.

Inappropriate?i'd like this because i'm not comfortable in posting my specific location publicly to twitter, but it would be ok for my friends to know where I am on facebook.
-
You can modify your privacy settings so that Twitter won't show your exact address. You would just need to post in Private mode and change your "Everyone else" settings to just show your City for checkins or posts. -
I tried that, but I'm always checking in @ different locations in the same city so twitter is always saying "I'm @ Sao Paulo", "I'm @ Sao Paulo", "I'm @ Sao Paulo". -
I'm wanting to change what it posts exactly. for instance "I'm @ sonic drive-in" Instead of "I'm @ princeton" while not really giving an address(although a city name might be handy in conjunction with labels)
Instead of "I'm @ princeton" -
Inappropriate?I'd personally take it as a compliment if people would stalk me once in awhile.
That's why I post my personal information all over the internet.

Jeez.
A little desperate for some excitement are we? ;) -
Inappropriate?I've been thinking about this lately and wondering about how all of these social services could/should tie together. I have accounts with brightkite, facebook, twitter, and friendfeed. There's some communication back and forth, but it seems like there should be more integration. IE, you should be able to tie all your various social network accounts together and when you post to one with an update, it automatically should post to all of them (or even just to the ones you select via checkboxes on the form you are posting from). Having to post on multiple services each time is so repetitive and silly. I'm hoping with all the talk of facebook and myspace opening up their platforms (and maybe this has to do with this "opensocial" I've heard about?), we'll see more of this...
I’m wondering

http://ping.fm takes care of multiple posting
"pingofpings" is the beta code now if you want to give it a shot. -
Thanks for the tip. I'm trying out ping.fm, but while it's definitely a step in the right direction, it needs to have much more customized settings for each service. IE, I would like to be able to check which services to update every time I send an update, and it should also provide the customized (optional) fields that are specific to the service. For example, it doesn't seem there is a way for me to do a brightkite checkin from this.
Similarly, it would be nice for there to be a similar service that was hooked to your various accounts and when you, for example, updated your facebook status, it would update your status on all the other sites. So you just update on the site that is most relevant, but then you know that it will communicate that to all the other sites... -
You can set which ones to update by default. I think it sets statuses by default so you would have to go into each service and check or uncheck the status part. And I'm pretty sure brightkite hasn't released their API yet for anyone to check in to it without using your mobile directly with them or their website (http://getsatisfaction.com/pingfm/top...). -
Our Brightkite API Beta is now available: http://blog.brightkite.com/2008/07/10... -
Inappropriate?A Facebook app is still in the works and we are curious to hear some feedback from our users. What kind of features would you like to see in the app?
-
Def want a customizable Tab outside of just a Boxes widget thingy. In mine, I would want a giant google map with all the places I've checked into! And perhaps a sidebar with the list of my recent checkins and posts.
Also, the newsfeed item should contain a link to the brightkite page for that location so that friends sitting next to me checking out my profile can check in within two clicks (or easily sign up!)
Naturally, pictures taken at a location should also show up in the long newsfeed setting. -
option to auto-update facebook status (similar to twitter-to-facebook plugin) saying where i am and with a link. esp. awesome if i could ask it to link to the yelp page for that business since that has more information than just an address -
Inappropriate?Definitely a 'where we've been map'
-
Inappropriate?where I have been on the map and where I am checked in at now would be a good start.
-
Inappropriate? It would be very nice to be able to click on links within the brightkite iphone app and have it open a page without leaving the app, similar to the tweetie applications link referral. From there you can either open it further in Safari, or send a link for later desktop viewing.
-
Great idea! We're big fans of the Tweetie app and we would like to see some of it's functionality in Brightkite.
