Faster Placemarks on iPhone App
In a building with poor GPS I like to use the placemarks instead. And especially in this area it takes ages for a network connect. So it would be good if I can open the placemarks and get a cached list of placemarks immediatelly (without waiting for GPS or UMTS) and to select the Place. I should also be possible to pick a foto or note and post it. (I dont mind if the posting then takes longer, I just mind to have to wait for the placemarks to populate and then to go again to the menu to add a note).

Inappropriate?Hi Bernd, one way to do what you want is to tap "Pick a place" on the main screen and then type in your placemark name. That will bring it up and when you select it you can just check in or you can post a note or a photo and check in at the same time.

On the other hand, caching your placemarks is not a bad idea at all. In future releases we're probably going to take a look at caching and things to make things work better in bad network situations and generally let you do what you want to do faster.
