Fireeagle has real-time notifications now!
Back in 2008 (which seems so far away now :P ), you had mentioned that Fireeagle lacked a scalable way to pull FE information and you were waiting for FE to provide something in that regard.
Browsing through the Fireeagle group, I stumbled across a post by one of the FE developers (I think) announcing the launch of XMPP -based realtime notifications for FE data - http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/fi...

Inappropriate?Having Brightkite be able to read your location from Fire Eagle (and the other way around as well) would be great. I hope this gets implemented soon.

From looking at the threads here, I've seen a lot of references to a big "push" coming soon that apparently changes a lot of things on Bkite, I'm just hoping that two-way FE integration is one of those...

Inappropriate?You said it, that'd be real nice. There are a lot of location-aware services starting to pop-up now, and I for one don't have the battery life to update them all.
Fire Eagle is a great idea, but it's only worth something if other services use it. Of course, using it means pull and push.
I’m frustrated at all the waiting, but trying to be patient.
