GPS? and SMS in Canada
Hi there, two questions.
1) is Brightkites iPhone app able to determine my exact location via the iPhone's GPS capabilities (without selecting from a list of establishments)? So far I've only checked in in my home town. Telling my friends I'm in Vancouver is pretty pointless and it seems that's all that happens when I check in so far. I can see other people checking in with detailed address info, am I doing something wrong?
2) is there or isn't there sms support for Canada, and if there isn't why wouldn't this information be outlined on the "send confirmation to phone" screen so I don't have to spend a half hour trying it over and over again until I find some year old forum post about its unavailability in Canada.
thank you

Inappropriate?Hi cheel, yes our iPhone app can determine your exact location. Once it finds you, you can tap "Pick a place" which will give a list of options that include intersections along with establishments.

There you can also search for an address or intersection if it is not listed in the options. As you check into more places it will start "snapping" to these places when you are near them.
Canadian SMS is a little tricky. Technically Canadian phones are not compatible with either our US short code or international long code, but some people have been able to confirm their phones and use SMS just fine. I'm sorry there is no mention of this in the Account Settings, that is an oversight on our part, we will add something in there ASAP.
