GPS Discrepancy in Portola Hills
There is a discrepancy between actual GPS location and what Brightkite states to be the location. The GPS Coordinates that I entered were 33.68692, -117.62985. Brightkite states that I am at Canyon Country Dr & Canyon Crest Dr, Portola Hills, CA 00, United States. The site is actually three blocks away on Saddleback Ranch Road. The map shows the correct coordinates.

Inappropriate?EmperorNorton, thanks for bringing this to our attention. Usually with coordinates it resolves to a nearby intersection since we don't have a name for that place, for example:
39.762388, -104.982315
Resolves to: http://brightkite.com/places/1ccacea1...
It should tell you that you are "near" somewhere or ,like with the example above, a certain distance from an intersection. For some reason this isn't happening with the coordinates you used. We will take a look and see if there is anything we can do in this case.
