help checking in with new iphone app
I added my current location ('work') to placemarks, so shouldn't 'work' show up in my checkins at this location?

Inappropriate?nexus_6, when you placemark a location it does not automatically apply that placemark name as a label for that location. You can, however, create your own labels for locations that show when you check in and then you can placemark these locations.
To do so, go to the main website and enter the following into the search bar at the top:
12345 address [Insert custom label here]
That will then apply that label to that location. More on custom labels here:

Currently you can only create labels on the main site, but this functionality will make it into the native app sometime in the future.
