Human readable locations - Name and/or cross-street
It would be great to be able to check in from a cross-street. Some times I don't know the exact address, and even so, it's impossible to navigate from just an address without a cross street anyway.
A notification like "Sarah is at Starbucks on 3rd and Madison" is much more useful than "Sarah is at 1019 3rd Ave"

Yes, it should be implied, unfortunately there are some technical hurdles around that at the moment...we have a workaround in mind that we're going to test in the coming days. -
Inappropriate?It'd be nice to take this one step further and have the checkin command go @ 3rd and madison, seattle (Starbucks)
Then the notification could go "Sarah is at Starbucks, on 3rd and Madison"
