identi.ca sharing
It would be nice to have sharing support with identi.ca. It has an API that is compatible with twitter (http://laconi.ca/Main/Twitter-compati...), so it shouldn't be too hard to put support in for it. Thanks!

Inappropriate?Hi Bryan, thanks for the idea! There are a lot of services we would love to add support for and we will have to look into identi.ca. Realistically this is something that could probably happen with our API (in beta right now) before our developers have a chance to get to it. We'll keep this on our radar though, so feel free to send us a friendly reminder down the road if nothing has happened with this.

Inappropriate?Hi Guys,
I'm just wondering if there's any plans to do anything with this suggestion? The Twitter-like API for Laconica based sites is complete, and the two main laconica based sites (http://identi.ca and http://army.twit.tv) each have hundreds, if not thousands of Internet literate people on them.
I use identi.ca as my microblogging hub, and I'd love to see Brightkite give this system some love!
As well as being feature complete with Twitter's API, Laconica sites also have the benefit of being in active, public development, with the intention that Laconica sites should be able to run on nearly any PHP based webhosting... so the potential for tie-ins is pretty huge!
To implement this, you could amend your existing twitter-link, asking people to state the API base - whereas Twitter uses http://twitter.com/, identi.ca (in common with all Laconica systems) have their API base at http://identi.ca/api/
The guys at ControlYourself (who run identi.ca and do most of the code development within the Laconica code) have made it quite clear that they're more than happy to work with anyone who's looking for support using the API within Laconica, and the developer community are pretty good to work with as well.
Feel free to drop me a note if you want someone to alpha-or-beta test your Laconica integration :)

I’m not sure if this is ever going to be picked up

Inappropriate?Over 9 months and not able to add an api that is basically the same as twitter?
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Dan, apologies for the frustration. As you might imagine our feature list is quite long and we haven't had a chance to implement everything we'd like as quickly as we'd like.
But we now have the resources to get through these things faster, so very soon you will start seeing a lot of the features we've been talking about come to fruition.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?it would be lovely if that would be a bit higher on the radar, since there are actually people who don't use twitter and only identi.ca, because they like to keep their stuff open-source.
as it has been said before, the API is essentially the same, so a simple search-and-replace should make it possible. if not, the identi.ca-developers are a really helpful crowd -> http://laconi.ca/trac/
oh, and like John, which seems to be a nice guy, I'd be more than happy to help testing it!
I’m hoping this will be implemented soon!

Inappropriate?any idea when this will happen?
about a year ago Lesley said "send us a friendly reminder down the road if nothing has happened with this", and we've sent a bunch of friendly reminders....
as others have said before, the API of identi.ca is identical to twitter, thus the integration should be really straightforward, i guess just a copy-paste-job of the twitter-integration...
I’m frustrated
