iPhone Add Placemark flow incomplete
When adding a placemark on the iPhone, the flow seems broken. Rather than returning to the previous page or receiving a "success" confirmation (as when I check in), the page just refreshes.

Inappropriate?Chris, are you using the iPhone web app or the main website on your iPhone? I tested this with the web app and was unable to replicate the problem. Adding a placemark took me back to the place page with the confirmation at the top that said this place had been placemarked.

Hrmm. Actually, I was using a Fluid (fluidapp.com) instance of Brightkite. Maybe that's the problem? -
Hmm, I just tested using Fluid and couldn't replicate the problem there either.

Yes, I was able to get the blank screen after deleting a placemark. We will look into this and correct it. Still no luck on creating a placemark though, I will keep testing to see if I can get the blank screen.

Inappropriate?I've had this problem for more than a month now, but just got around to reporting it. It definitely seems related to the placemark name. If I try to placemark <http://brightkite.com/places/87607678...> as "Rockville Metro Station", it fails. If I name it "r", it fails. If I name it "rr", it succeeds. -
Inappropriate?Ah.. the problem is that the placemark names are invalid but the app gives no indication. "Rockville Metro Station" is too long. "r" is too short.

Inappropriate?Ok, I think I figured it out. There's no indication that a Placemark has already been created (possibly of the same name). Consider this:

I think the problem was that I was creating an alias that already exists -- and wasn't getting any indication that my change was successful.1 Comment Add a comment
