iphone app - checkins not happening when using checkin & post note
I have used the checkin and post note feature of the iphone brightkite app several times over the past week, and I can see it is creating notes at the locations I am in, but not actually checking me in. Looking through my stream I see its been happening a lot and I just never noticed it until I went out of the area I live.

Inappropriate?Nate, the checkins are still happening, they are just "implicit". When we offered the combined actions of checking in and posting at the same time, a great number of people were confused by the separate entries that would appear for both their checkin and their post at that location. Since your notes are being tagged with your checked in location and are shown in that placestream, the separate checkin entry seemed redundant. I hope that helps clear things up.

Hi Lesley, if that is so, then I need to restate my problem. THen the problem is that several of my checkins, the ones tied to notes or photos, are not appearing on my Visited Places list. For example, I was in Key west and checked in several places there, but I have no marks on the map for Key West. -
Ah, I see. We have some things in the pipeline that will change that behavior and hopefully make it much less confusing. You should see these implemented in the coming weeks. In the meantime if you check in and post separately your checkins will be reflected in your visited places.
