Mobile-like Webpage Display in Safari (for Windows)
I'm using Safari 3.1.2 for Windows and lately (I spotted the problem a couple of days ago) the Brightkite site displays what seems to be a mobile version of the page instead of the full featured site on that browser. (There's no redirection to http://m.brightkite.com tough: it's the regular site that adopts a minimal, low graphics version suited for a mobile phone.)
I don't know if the problem of the the new(?) page is related to the introduction of the "Guess My Location" feature but it sure as refrained me from wanting to interact with the site.

Inappropriate?Hi ngl, was it doing this to you for all pages or just specific ones? Do you have any screenshots? I just tested this and was unable to reproduce the problem, so any more details you have will be helpful.

Inappropriate?Hello, Leslie. The problem starts right on the Brightkite homepage and is consistent in every page of the site (I tried every link and provide screenshots of the homepage and of the Place Search page for illustration).

The site looks virtually indistinguishable from its mobile version (rendered on Firefox 3 in the screenshot).

Have you tried clearing your cache, cookies, and all that fun stuff? -
I thought about it before and did just that now... with no luck. :( I was greeted with the same minimal page now asking for my username and password. -
Inappropriate?Hi.. sorry for the intrusion, but I wanted to see if I could replicate this on IE6, and got something... horribly different. :)
This is why I use a Mac. LOL... Good thing most people are upgrading to IE7... :-\
I’m hating Microsoft

No intrusion at all. :) Well, I've got IE7 installed but its acting weird: when I try to access a site, it just opens a new window of my default browser (Safari). But the Brightkite homepage sure looks messy on IE6... :P
I'm planning on switching to Mac soon... ;) -
Inappropriate? Also, I can't get the 'mobile' view when I use Safari on Windows. You don't happen to have the "Develop" menu turned on with the User Agent set to something other than the default, do you? I know that's a long shot, but it's something that I've messed up before when I was writing some code for iPhone...

Since I don't even really know what you're talking about, I guess not. ;) I reckon it must be set to default because I don't thing I ever played around with User Agent. :) -
