Naming locations
How do I name a location? And is it possible to correct the name of a location if someone else created it wrong? I'm not taking about placemarks as much as the actual business name of a location. I'd love to be able to do this in the initial check in SMS.

The reason why you can't define the name is because different people refer to places by different names. -

@lat,lon [Custom name]
It seems to ignore the custom name.
Is there a way to address this? I checked in via e-mail and my location simply is listed as US

Edward, currently you can only create a custom label by using the website. We have plans to do this over SMS and email as well, but no ETA at this time. -

While I've got you, I am trying to hack together my own API for checking in with my SPOT Messenger. Then it occurred to me I could just have SPOT e-mail my secret Brightkite e-mail address when I check in. To my knowledge, there is no way to format a SPOT e-mail message - does your mail handler know how to pick lat/lon information out of the body of an e-mail? Or does it always have to begin with the @lat,lon ?
