No links in Twitter-posted notes, please!

Inappropriate? The link exists because Twitter has no way to display location or photo information. If we turn this off, the post loses all its context. We wish it was cleaner as well.
Twitter does a great job of posting "What", Brightkite offers the "Where". For posts without location context just use Twitter. -
Inappropriate? But brightkite users want the location information, Twitter users likely do not. I'd like to be able to post to brightkite with location info for those who want it, and push the same post to Twitter without location data.
At the very least, an option to turn off the location link would be expected. -
Inappropriate?Other services should get "credit" for what they provide, and a link to the service for the "where" as well as introducing potential users to the service is fine with me. I just need to remember the post will truncate a bit and reduce my character length.
I’m fine with it.

Inappropriate?I want to use only a single portal for my presence blogging. I don't see why it is unreasonable for Brightkite to offer a superset of features compared to Twitter (like location awareness) but failover gracefully when cross-posting. The truncation of long posts with links that Twitter users don't care about is frustrating. Plus, you allow for dynamic updating of the Twitter location when checking in - doesn't this address your concern about context (at least for the current post)? If this is just about driving click-through, there is a Brightkite link next to every cross-post in Twitter anyway.
I’m frustrated
