No SMS Confirmation Codes to either Sprint or AT&T
I routinely switch between a Sprint phone (treo) and an AT&T phone (iphone). Its always worked but beginning yesterday the system doesn't seem to send confirmation codes anymore.
One thing I did at some point was send "OFF" to stop incoming messages and am wondering if that's somehow marked my account so that no messages will be delivered.
In any case, I cannot activate either phone for SMS use.

Inappropriate?I did mark your account to not have messages delivered. However, confirmation codes should obviously get delivered, so it's a bug on our end.
We're working on fixing it right now, and should have an update for you soon. -
Inappropriate?Give it another try ("Delete & Start Over" on your mobile settings screen). Let me know if you are still not receiving the code.

Inappropriate?not a pay as you go, havent ported my number recently, able to send and receive SMS. I get SMS from my live calender, and us airways by short code all the time. Thanks in advance for your help

Inappropriate?Jwalker, if you don't have text messaging on your phone then unfortunately you won't be able to use Brightkite via SMS. However, if you have data transfer you can use the service over mobile email or in your mobile browser by going to m.brightkite.com.

Matt, can you send your number to lesley[at]brightkite.com? I will call our SMS gateway provider and have them look it up to see if there is any problem. -
Inappropriate?I'm having the same problem with my Sprint phone. I never get the SMS from Brightkite after trying to register my phone number, even after trying Delete & start over. I fit none of the potential problem scenarios above, i.e. not a ported number, not a pay-as-you-go account. Is anybody actively working on this problem or is it stuck in the problem queue? Seems like I'm not the only one with the problem.

Hi gom, most of the time these problems are specific to the individual phones so there's no overall fix for it. If you send your number to lesley[at]brightkite.com we can look it up to see what's going on. Thanks. -
Inappropriate?What about the ported numbers? I am trying to send SMS to my friend's phone who moved from Sprint to AT&T. It used to work to number@messaging.sprintpcs.com but it does not work to number@txt.att.net. I receive error smtp;550 Invalid recipient. If the number has been ported, how long should it take to be set up on the AT&T side? Thanks.

Hi Marty, I'm not sure how long it takes for everything to get switched over for a ported number. Your best bet would be to contact AT&T support and ask them. Sorry I can't be of more help. -
Thanks, Lesley. I'm having my friend do that but thought I might save some time if I could find some insight on the web. Her phone service was switched weeks ago and we just found out that the SMS stuff is not working. Thanks.
