define "ported". thank you. -
Did you transfer your phone number from a different account to Verizon when you signed up with them? -
no -
Hmm, are you on any sort of pay-as-you-go plan? -
not at all. my plan includes unlimited texting and images. -
note: when entering my number in the setup page, there are NO ERRORS. I assume it's okay when the "enter confirmation" pages appears. I just don't get the confirmation from Brightkite to my phone. -
Okay, I'm almost done with the questions. :) Are you able to send and receive messages using other short codes (Twitter, Facebook, etc)? Have you tried contacting Verizon or logging in to your account (there may even be a vtext.com portal you can try) to see if you need to enable/disable something? -
Yes, I can use short codes for Twitter & Facebook. Will try your suggestions. Thank you, Lesley. -
I spoke to Verizon. They said there was no problem on their end. I re-entered my mobile number with area code: 1234567890, still no confirmation code. -
Thanks so much for your patience with this. One last thing, can you email your mobile number to lesleyATbrightkiteDOTkom so that I can try a test message or two? -
Inappropriate?Hi Lesley. Sending you mobile number for testing. Thank you so much.

I’m excited
-
Hi Lesley,
I spoke to Verizon tech support and they tested by number from their website and from a mobile. Both messages were received no problem. (BTY I can text short codes to Facebook and Twitter no problem)
Their suggest is that there is a glitch in your system and my number should be removed and reentered on your database. I will re-type my number at Brightkite again. Thanks. -
Inappropriate?Lesley,
Is a possible that a "default" confirmation code could be e-mailed to me so that it could be entered at the BKite website?

I’m perplexed
-
Inappropriate?Gesses, your number has been placed on a deactivate list specifically for our shortcode because your phone sent us a 3041 error. This deactivate list is sent to our SMS aggregator by Verizon, which they have to enforce. I believe the waiting period for Verizon is 22 days from the time that the 3041 error was sent. Even if we could give you a default code, you wouldn't be able to receive messages from us because you are still on this list. As far as I know there is no way to be taken off of the list, but Verizon should be able to tell you when the error was sent and how much longer you have to wait before you can use our shortcode.

this answers the question

AS per my post 3 days ago, Verizon states that problem is on your end. I have been tested and cleared by Verizon, there is NO DEACTIVATION LIST list for my number. Please escalate is issue to another member of BKite if this issue above your scope of expertise. Thank you for your support to date.
