One more radius setting - 20 km
I know in a country like Belgium we will have fewer users than in certain other countries. So I know there will be few friends around me.
It would be nice if I could widen the 'Nearby notifications' or 'around me' radius to about 20Km, as 4km is not going to give me much of activity.

I hope you'll be including this exanded radius in the iPhone app. I love Brightkite but it's very quiet when I get home to the suburbs. -

Inappropriate?Hope so. There's no one in a 4 kilometer radius of me that's using BrightKite. I get Twinkle activity in a 10 mile radius (and a 5 mile radius too) though.

Erm... nope, no drop-down on my 'Around me' tab. There's a drop-down in the Settings, but it still only goes to 4000 metres.

Are you checked in at city level? The radius options are only visible at an exact address, intersection, or street level.

Have tested this. When I'm checked in at street-level, I don't get the drop-down box. I have to put a full address, including the building-number, before I get the drop-down.

Actually, that's my fault. It doesn't work at street level because it doesn't know what point on that street to make the center of the radius. But I did just test it with an intersection and it shows up for me.

Intersections don't seem to work here (UK). I've just tried several different intersections, in different areas, and none of them was recognised as a valid location at which to check in.

yeah, intersection is only working in the US, maybe canada... google has to work that out...!

So only full address with street number will allow me to see a wider radius. Given how many full addresses don't work (eg my home address shows up to friends as the wrong town - I've had to play around to get something that works), and how many places don't have a number (more than half my placemarks), the wider radius is no use to me then. Too bad - I was looking forward to it, especially since there are so few BK users here :-(
