Placemarks not updating in Twitter Stream
For some reason, when i update to a placemark, twitter doesn't update my location (as a tweet, not as the location in profile). But notes and photos work fine. Ideas?

Inappropriate? We changed this functionality to update your location field. After giving it some thought, we'll bring back the "post my checkins" functionality.
Should be in later today. -
Inappropriate?Should it post an "I'm at" tweet as well as change the location? That is whay my settings are set for. That is what I would like.
-
Inappropriate? That functionality seems to be back again (or at least working now; first time I saw it working since I signed up), but it seems the $street tag in the custom settings is not working.
I have set my Custom Twitter Checkin message set to "Mijn locatie is $street, $city. Zie $link." and I got the following in Twitter: "peSHIr Mijn locatie is $street, Utrecht. Zie http://bkite.com/00VZM. about 1 hour ago from web"
I’m hoping this will get corrected
-
Hi peSHIr, we are pushing a fix for this now. Give it a few minutes and then try it again. Thanks for letting us know about this problem, please update us if this does not resolve it. -
Just tried it. The $street tag seems to be replaced by something, but the something is just an empty string. Result I just got: "peSHIr Mijn locatie is , Utrecht. Zie http://bkite.com/00Wm9. 2 minutes ago from web" where I expected "Mijn locatie is Klokjesbloemlaan, Utrecht." -
It looks like you checked in using Private mode with it set to display your City for your location. So based on your settings, the info that went to Twitter was correct. -
Makes perfect sense (in hindsight!). Changed Private mode checkin settings to Exact. Hoped that would give me the streetname I would like in my Twitter updates. Unfortunately this does not seem to be the case. Does $street only work in Public mode?
Tip: maybe you could put an asterisk next to tags in tag list of custom messages with a "*) only works when your Public/Private mode settings allow this information to be shared" reminder at the bottom of the dialog? Or in mouseovers? Or something? Would really help users, I think. -
Your privacy settings will override your Twitter customizations. So if you have your "Everyone else" settings set to City level, it will not share your street name with Twitter. We agree that it is confusing right now and we are working to make this clearer. Thanks for your patience and input on the matter. :) -
One tiny suggestion: add a "Neighbourhood" setting in between "Exact" and "City" which acts like City in all respects except that it does allow the $street tag in customizations to work (and possibly show the street name next to the city on the website as well). Streets can be long, and I would really love to show street name, while still hiding the house number and exact WGS84 coordinates. Especially since I live in the fourth largest city of the Nehterlands, so almost all my day to day check ins will be in Utrecht, making "City" level a bit useless.(Saw it was already mentioned as http://is.gd/WLJ) -
Inappropriate?See http://is.gd/WLJ for further updates on my issue.
