I wish there was a way to delete check-ins. I posted that I'm at home right now with my address and everything, but I'm not sure I want to be that public about where I live. I can't find a way to delete that check-in at all. Am I blind?

Another way, to delete all checkins at a place, is to go to "Visited Places" and click delete. This would delete all your checkins at that place.

Inappropriate?I've done all that but if you go to my profile and you're NOT logged in, you still see all my check ins, including one that should be PRIVATE. How do you permanently delete things from the stream?
AND I've deleted the places, but still they display. I might delete the entire account so that my private address doesn't display to the world. grrr.

ok, I found yet another way to delete places so that this is no longer public to the world.
as a user interface, it's confusing to have so many places to be able to add / delete places.

Everything you delete is deleted permanently...if you deleted a place from visited places, all your check-ins for that place will be deleted. However, if you posted notes or photos there, they would stay (but you can delete them on a one-by-one basis).

Inappropriate?This option is either gone or there is a problem with the app. I want to remove a check in that I did not post any comments or photos with, just a simple check in. There is no option to delete the location under Visited Locations, this seems to only be possible if you posted a note with the location. The other thing I tried was to make this location always private yet it still shows previous check ins at this location. I really need to remove a public check in. I am not understanding why this is not a more visible and readily available option for all check ins.1 Comment Add a comment

You can remove checkins and posts by clicking the trash icon in next to it in the stream.

Inappropriate?I can't delete checkin and can't find the trash can icon. Please help. I also went to visited places to delete them all and can't find any icon there that allows me to delete.

Inappropriate?The trash can ONLY exists if you post a note or a photo. I simply want to delete a check in which appears to those people who visit my profile and not when I am viewing it. I can't seem to make this clear enough. I know I can delete a check it IF there is a note or a photo but otherwise you can not.

The circled entry does not show when I am logged on, only the entries that I post notes or photos to. I want to delete a check in that has no notes nor photos attached and there seems to be no way to do so.
Here is a snapshot of my profile when logged on, you will see the check in is missing so I can not delete it.

The checkin referenced above does not have a note or photo attached to it. What's the URL in which that image shows up?

Dayve, it looks like you have checkins filtered out of your stream when you are logged in. If you click "Show filters" you should see a check box for checkins, if you click that and then apply you should see all of your checkins with an option to delete them.

Inappropriate?I already removed some check-ins from the site couple days ago. The map view looked better last time. However, The Visited Place (Map View and List View) show some general places such as United States, Pasadena, California. It screw up the map view look. It didn't happen after I deleted some check-ins places couple days ago. But it happens again.

Hi skylander, we actually had to take out the delete button from your visited places while we rework some things. It will be back soon. We've rethought the recent changes we made to Visited Places after seeing a large number of people confused by the changes. Expect to see this back to normal shortly. :)

Unfortunately we have no updates on being able to delete a place from your visited places. You can delete any of your checkins by viewing your profile and clicking the trash can icon for the checkin you wish to delete.

Not yet. We have some changes in the pipeline that will affect Visited Places, which is why there's been such a delay with this.

Inappropriate?Anil, thank you for bringing this up. This has been delayed for so long because of some other changes we have planned that will affect it. It just didn't make sense for us to do the work and then redo it later on.
We realize this is frustrating, but please bear with us. You should start seeing some improvements in the near future.

Inappropriate?If you only see Notes and Photos in your profile's stream, open the Stream Settings and check "Checkins" and press apply. Now your checkins should appear in your stream with that trashcan icon.
