Problem: having to use ZIP codes every time.
BrightKite is a great free service, but everywhere I go, I have to enter the full address PLUS zip code in order for it to locate me properly. Address lookup on brightkite.com doesn't work either, because it doesn't give me zip codes. Who memorizes ZIP codes? Nobody!
Another gripe: It can't find any businesses in Snellville, GA or anywhere else in Gwinnett County. I haven't tried it elsewhere in Atlanta.

snowboardcast: Might I suggest you ask this question in a topic that is related to this subject? Such as this one: http://getsatisfaction.com/brightkite... -
Inappropriate?Stephen, unfortunately I am unable to replicate the issue you are describing. Using both the Place search and the Business search on brightkite.com I was able to find businesses within Snellville and addresses appeared without me having to enter a zip code. I also tested out the SMS commands and was able to check in at a Subway in Snellville by using the ?subway command. Are you still having this issue? Could it be that the locations you are searching for are not yet in our database?

Inappropriate?Maybe I'm misunderstanding the syntax. If I check in at my home (Snellville, GA, 30078) and then do an @?Stride Rite, it asks me which location. I reply '1' and it sets my location correctly at the Stride Rite store on Scenic Highway.
What I was trying to do was check in at, say, Publix, without having to check in at a waypoint. I was trying to check in using '@?Publix, Snellville, GA' and it didn't work--it said it couldn't find that business. I tried ?Publix and it looked up Publix OK, but the point is, I didn't want to have to check in at a town first and THEN check in at the business; I wanted to send one message and have that understood. Does that make sense? Is there a way to do what I'm asking?
I’m more hopeful

Inappropriate?Ah, I see what you're asking. We are currently working on a way to consolidate commands, so stay tuned. :)
