Simultaneous Check-in & Post

It seems to me that the only way to associate a post with a location is to check-in at that location and THEN write a post. Could these steps be combined for a smoother experience?

This could just be two dialogues on the same post/check-in page. If the check-in is filled in, it would perform a search and confirm your check-in and post simultaneously. If the check-in is left blank, it would simply post to the current location.

Another idea... extract information from posted photos to associate the location. Either search for location strings in the email or title, or extract the geo-tagged info if it's coming from a phone.
